How a filling is done

Check
Dr. Rima looks at the tooth and takes an X-ray if the decay may be deep.

Numbing
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic when needed, so you are comfortable.

Cleaning out the decay
The soft, decayed part of the tooth is removed and the cavity is cleaned.

Filling
Tooth-coloured material is placed in layers and hardened with a blue light.

Shaping
The filling is shaped and polished so your bite feels normal.
After your filling
- Wait until the numbness wears off before eating, so you do not bite your cheek
- Mild sensitivity for a few days is common
- If your bite feels high or uneven, message us so we can adjust it
- Keep brushing and cleaning between your teeth to prevent new cavities
